Uncategorized → Tormented and Empty
For the last week the world has been fixated with the death of Michael Jackson. When I think of Michael Jackson the word tormented comes to mind.
In the midst of all the success in life he experienced, he came up empty in the most important areas of life – finding healing from his past and finding the purpose of life.
In reading up on Michel Jackson, it was said the reason for all the plastic surgeries to change the way he looked was to get back at his father whom he hated. He in no way wanted to look like his father or to be like his father.
It is very sad when you think about it…you hate some one so much you change the color of your skin and the look of your face.
Who knew that in the end… it could be his hatred for his father contributed to his demise.
My mentor years ago said some thing that has always stuck with me…being consumed with bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
I also read where Michael Jackson converted to Islam last year. And that two weeks before he died he invited Andrea Crouch a gospel recording artist and friend of Michael Jackson to come to his home. The purpose was to discuss how Michael Jackson’s music could become more spiritual. Andrea Crouch said that after they talked Michael requested for him to sing a particular gospel song that he liked and then they closed in prayer. When asked if Michael Jackson made a commitment to follow Christ, his only comment was Michael did not object to praying with him. Only God knows.
It’s obvious that he was searching. He recognized there was more to life then what we see and that there is a spiritual side.
Luke 9:25 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?
Remember success in God’s eyes is knowing and loving Him.
Jeremiah 9:23 The Lord says: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight.”
Be Blessed,
Stan
